Career Opportunities for Majors in Design

Introduction

Students opting for the BFA in Design will develop innovative and meaningful ways of communicating ideas in a wide range of concrete and dynamic media. They will acquire skills in form-making, systems thinking, typography, interaction, and data visualization, while shaping content and form in real world situations. The program encourages a critical engagement with contemporary culture, while equipping students for a lifetime of practice as a designer in digital and/or print design. Our aim is for alumni to help shape the future direction of design. Students wishing to pursue the BFA in Design apply to the BFA in Visual Arts and declare the Design major during their sophomore year, after completing a common cross-disciplinary Foundation year.
