Career Opportunities for Majors in Dentistry (BA/DMD) Introduction Rutgers-New Brunswick and the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine offer a seven-year B.A./D.M.D. degree. The purpose of the BA/DMD combined degree program is to permit highly qualified students who are in their sophomore year to complete the required courses for both baccalaureate and dental degrees in a seven-year sequence. The Program consists of three years of undergraduate study (BA degree) and four years of study in the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree program at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. The courses taken in dental school will complete the major in Biological Sciences or Cell Biology and Neuroscience, in addition to the dental degree requirements.
